What we collect

When you place a pre-order we collect the details you type into the form: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address (street, city, state and PIN code) and any note you choose to add.

If you subscribe for updates, we collect only your email address.

We collect nothing else about you. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not track you across other websites.

Why we collect it

Solely to confirm and fulfil your order, and to reply to you. Your phone number is used only if we cannot reach you by email or the courier needs it for delivery.

Where it goes

Your order details are sent as an email to our own mailbox, care@sumeru.org.in. This website keeps no customer database and stores no order history.

Your delivery address is shared with the courier carrying your parcel, because it cannot be delivered otherwise. It is not shared with anyone else, and it is never sold, rented or exchanged.

Payment details

This site has no payment gateway. We never collect card numbers, UPI IDs, net-banking credentials or bank details through this website. Payment is arranged directly with you by email after your order is confirmed.

Cookies, analytics and your browser

We set no cookies and run no analytics, advertising or session-recording tools on this site.

Your shopping bag is stored in your own browser's local storage so it survives a page refresh. It stays on your device and is never sent to us until you actually submit an order — and you can clear it at any time by emptying the bag or clearing your browser data.

Abuse prevention

So that the order form cannot be flooded with automated submissions, our server briefly keeps a one-way hashed form of the network address a submission came from, together with the time it arrived. It is used only to count recent submissions and limit them, is not readable back into an address, is not linked to your order, and is discarded shortly afterwards.

How long we keep it

Order emails are retained in our mailbox for as long as we may need them for the order and for our records. If you would like your details removed, ask us and we will do it.

Your choices

Write to care@sumeru.org.in at any time to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. You can unsubscribe from updates by replying to any update email and asking.

Children

This store is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If how we handle your information changes — for example if a payment gateway is added — this page will be updated at the same time, and the date below will change with it.
